Margaret Murray, Executive Director
Margaret Murray, the new Executive Director of One in Ten, comes to
Washington, DC, by way of Florida, where for two years she was Executive
Director for the Tampa International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.
She successfully launched KidFlix, Tampa’s first children’s
film festival, and has also programmed festivals for various cultural
institutions, includiung the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg,
FL as co-director of Cinema of Agitation: Eastern Surrealism in Film.
She is the owner of Movies That Move, an award-winning roving cinema
showcase that pair site specific film screenings in out of the way and
unlikely locales.
Prior to moving to Washington, DC., she was Communications Director
for the Arts Center, a contemporary arts facility in St. Petersburg,
FL., where she worked extensively on a partnership between glass artist
Dale Chihuly and the Arts Center to create Florida’s first arts-anchored
residential development.
A life-long supporter and patron of the arts, Murray was the Amsterdam
based European Label Manager for Knitting Factory Records, a New York
avant-garde jazz label, as well as the General Manager for the highly
successful Madstone Theatre Tampa, an art-house cinema, lounge and gallery
space.
Joe Bilancio, Programs Manager
Joe Bilancio, Programs Manager for One In Ten, is entering his third
year as a full-time staff member, where he is responsible for all program-oriented
functions for the organization. Prior to coming on board
at OIT, Bilancio was Programming Director for the Rehoboth
Beach (DE) Film Society (RBFS) where he was responsible for programming
decisions for the Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival as well as
the Independent Focus series (a series of Independent Films screened
year round at the Movies at Midway), a Art House Theatre and monthly
screenings. Marketing
and promotions of the society activities and membership were also part
of his duties. Prior to his role with the RBFS, Bilancio worked
four years with Reel Affirmations in various festival
programming roles.
Before moving to Washington, Joe was employed by the world’s largest
entertainment public relations firm, Rogers and Cowan, where he was involved
in the marketing and promotions aspect of the film industry, producing
events for film openings, creating press tours as well as some personal
publicity.
Bilancio holds a Masters degree in Sport/Entertainment and Event Marketing
from The Ohio State University and a Bachelors degree in Journalism from
Ball State University. Bilancio is very excited to a part of One
In Ten — its amazing volunteer effort and the tremendous community support
make OIT an organization second to none, he says. He looks forward to
the growth of the organization.
Randy Fraker, Office Manager
Randy managers the office operations for One In Ten. He has many years
of diverse experience working for small businesses as an office manager,
administrator, and writer. Randy has freelanced as a proposal writer,
trainer, and marketer. Randy is excited to be a part of One In Ten and
believes the organization plays a vital role in the arts for the GLBT
community.
Randy likes to volunteer in the community and continues to volunteer
for Reel Affirmations as the box office manager and has worked on the
features program committee and program guide distribution. He is an active
member in his church. Randy enjoys working with sound and video technology
and volunteers as a sound engineer for local community plays and productions.
Randy is a lifelong resident of the DC area. He graduated from
George Mason University and currently resides in Kensington, MD
with his partner, Dick. |
