"While You Weren't Looking" is a stunning, memorable and challenging film set within the changing landscape of post-Apartheid South African politics and lifestyles are portrayed through three queer relationships: a successful black real estate woman who is cheating on her white wife, their bohemian daughter dating a gender non-confirming woman in the Soweto ghettos, and a white male queer studies professor pining for his black male lover from the revolutionary days.  Directed by Catherine Stewart

"Those People" is set on Manhattan's gilded Upper East Side where, Charlie, a hopelessly romantic painter, is torn between an obsession with Sebastian, his infamous best friend, and a promising new romance with Tim, an older foreign pianist. Though from very different worlds, Charlie and Sebastian's connection has remained unwavering through the years and rife with shared memories, both painful and lovely. When suddenly faced with the monumental fallout of his father’s financial scandal, Sebastian demands even more of Charlie’s attention, complicating Charlie’s budding love affair with Tim. Accustomed to getting his way, Sebastian begins a dangerous downward spiral, while Charlie struggles to discover the independence and artistic enlightenment that has long been out of his reach. This film tells a familiar and profound story of love and loyalty, but in a way that is uniquely beautiful. - Louis Lopez, Film Festival Programming Team Member. Directed by Joey Kuhn

Hello Kimberly, I’ve attempted twice to purchase a ticket for the 7 pm showing on opening day. Instead of charging me for a ticket, my payment is listed as a donation. Can you please assist me?

Peace,
Autumn
